SUMMARY
Description
Responsible for directing and managing all logistics, procurement and support services functions in a high-visibility, fast-paced international (global) setting (including multiple countries and multiple forward operating locations). Responsible for overall contract performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct oversight of the logistics operations in each country.
- Assume the daily OCONUS operational burdens of the DOL to facilitate effective program communications, direction and sustain execution with the PMO and DoS stakeholders.
- Monitors each task and keeps the Director of Logistics abreast of all problems and accomplishments.
- Determines overall support requirements, including facilities, personnel, safety, and maintenance.
- Directs and coordinates program activities designed to ensure effective and economical support.
- Serves as the contractor’s authorized liaison with the Government Technical Monitors (GTM).
- Reports in writing and orally to contractor management and government representatives.
- Provides technical direction specific projects assigned.
- Serves as a technical authority for various functional areas.
- Ensures tasks are completed within estimated time frames.
- Schedules and assigns duties to direct reports.
- Conducts the research necessary to develop and revise Host Nation training plan.
- Prepares and approves appropriate training.
- Provides daily supervision and direction to staff.
- Direct responsibility for the global Property Book process and manage local Logistics subcontractor activities.
- Ensure the programs are timely and effectively implemented in accordance with budgetary objectives and all contractual requirements.
- Maintain and foster highly responsive coordination and communication activities and initiatives of Logistics/Supply Chain management for Department of State, and as required, US Military airlift organizations.
- Develop and assist in presenting corporate proposals for new Department of State program business.
- Coordinate program activity with the senior leaders of other Directorates to ensure that common resources and skills are leveraged across WASS.
- Provide inventory acquisition, forecasting, and disbursement advice to WASS management.
- Position requires a U.S. SECRET Security Clearance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Required
- B.A./B.S. degree from a four-year college or university in a related field and/or combination of education and related experience.
Preferred
- MBA or Masters Equivalent
Required
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 15 years logistics experience.
Preferred
- Prior Military experience
- PMP Desirable
- Aviation Industry experience desired
