As a Senior Sales Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to cultivate and expand relationships with panel builders and end users in the electrical switchgear market. You will play a critical role in driving sales, providing technical expertise, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
Development:
Cultivate, and nurture relationships with panel builders, system integrators, and end users in
Kenya. Maintain strong connections with these stakeholders, comprehending their unique
requirements and offering customized solutions.
Growth:
Exceed sales targets by identifying opportunities, negotiating contracts, and closing deals.
Continuously explore new avenues for business expansion.
Expertise:
In-depth understanding of electrical systems, panel building, and the specific needs of related
industries and key customers. Stay vigilant in monitoring market trends and capitalize on
opportunities in Kenya’s residential, commercial real estate, infrastructure, and power & electric
utility projects.
Presentations:
Deliver technical presentations, elucidating our products and services to existing and potential
customers. Offer tailored engineering adaptations to meet specific needs.
Assessment:
Thorough market research to identify potential panel builders and system integrators across
various regions, aligning with our business plan and sales targets.
Informed about market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments. Use this
knowledge to develop strategies that drive growth.
Knowledge:
Updated on the features and benefits of our electrical switchgear products. Effectively
communicate product advantages to customers.
Relationship:
Exceptional customer support throughout the sales process and post-sale. Address customer
inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure a positive customer experience and maintain strong
customer relationships, ensuring a positive customer experience from the initial engagement
through post-sales support.
Reporting:
Accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and market feedback. Prepare regular
reports for management closely with the sales team, product development, and customer
support to ensure a seamless customer experience.
Management:
Charge of obtaining, tracking, negotiating, and finalizing project information, ensuring smooth
business activities.
Visits:
Regularly throughout Kenya to conduct customer consultations, assess needs, propose solutions,
and gather information for estimates and proposals.
Strategy:
Comprehensive market plans and enhance promotional and marketing communication initiatives,
including exhibitions, seminars, and training programs.
Targets:
Strive to meet and surpass ambitious sales revenue objective.
Qualifications and requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent, or a minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering in Kenya.
· Prior experience working with panel builders is essential.
· Strong technical knowledge of energy distribution and low voltage systems.
· Proven ability to identify new business opportunities and develop clear strategies for conversion.
· Familiarity with the project bidding process.
· Self-motivated with excellent presentation skills and a track record of effective sales methods.
· Proficiency in English as a working language and good PC skills, particularly with Microsoft Office.
· Previous sales background in electrical products and solutions, including low voltage electrical products, power distribution, and industrial control products, is highly desirable.
