The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection is in the process of developing a Kenya Position Paper to be presented in the upcoming Global Disability Summit in July 2018 in London.

Safaricom was one of the organisations that participated during the mini summit held at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development on Thursday to help in the preparation of the Paper that will focus on inclusive employment and innovation for disability. During the mini-summit the Telco exhibited some of the initiatives carried out under Diversity and Inclusion.

Safaricom has made commendable milestones in providing equal opportunities for all, including persons with disabilities within and outside the organization. Currently, PWDs comprise of 1.7% of the company’s workforce and an inclusive environment has been put in place.

Externally, Safaricom Foundation has partnered with various organizations on disability initiatives, including Association for the Physically Disabled of Kenya and National Fund for Disabled Persons.
