Agile Project Manager/ Scrum Master
Overview

This Agile Project Manager/ Scrum Master will be part of our Mastercard Nairobi team. This team member is responsible for guiding the processes of commitment of work in the team, capturing of stories, and prioritization of the backlog to manage the execution of program priorities.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Act as a servant-leader, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and empowerment within the team.
- Collaborate closely with the Product Owner to prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring that it is refined and ready for upcoming sprints.
- Identify and help to remove obstacles that hinder the team’s progress, escalating issues when necessary.
- Foster a collaborative and open environment, enabling effective communication and knowledge sharing among team members.
- Coach and mentor team members in Agile principles, practices, and frameworks.
- Monitor and report on project progress, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned with project goals.
- Promote and reinforce Agile best practices, emphasizing the importance of transparency, accountability, and adaptability.
- Encourage a culture of self-organization and ownership within the team, empowering them to make decisions and take responsibility for their work.
Qualifications
- General interest and passion for agile and learning agile practices
- Prior project management experience working with agile teams
- Familiarity with Kanban, the Scaled Agile Framework, Agile, or Scrum processes
- Exposure to agile work management tools such as JIRA
- Scrum certifications would be preferred
- High-energy, detail-oriented, and proactive with the ability to function under pressure in an independent environment
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong relationship, collaborative and organization skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills
