Speaking during the Sustainability launch event, Charles K Muchene, Absa Bank Kenya PLC Board Chairman, affirmed our commitment to the sustainability agenda.
“As a Board, we remain resolute and clear in our mandate as far as the continuous integration of sustainability and ESG principles into all aspects of our operations is concerned. We are convinced that sustainable development is the only true road to achieving the future we all desire. We take it as our duty of care to create a peaceful, prosperous and healthy world for the generations that come after us. As this report clearly demonstrates, we are making substantial progress to incorporate sustainability and efforts to control climate risk at the heart of our new business strategy. As a bank, we are immensely proud for the milestones we are making in this critical agenda. A lot remains to be done, however, we have set off and I am confident we are engaging the right gears.
Our sustainability strategy is centered on the triple bottom line of people, planet, and profit. Additionally, all employees of the Bank are fully onboarded into this journey.”
