[Nairobi, Kenya – 26 October 2023]: Stemming from her mission to empower youth, Azziad
Nasenya, BIC Miss Soleil’s brand ambassador, took centre stage at the Self-Care and Confidence
panel at Kenyatta University. Students gathered to hear Kenya’s leading influencer’s thoughts on
self-confidence, as part of BIC’s ‘Wembesha Na BIC’ (Stay Sharp with BIC) campaign.
The campaign launched in 2022, aims to empower youth through focusing on personal care and self-confidence.

The content creator, influencer, radio host, and brand ambassador for BIC Miss Soleil was joined by
Dermatologist’s Officer, Rebecca Chacha, and BIC East Africa Marketing Manager, Salome Ngugi.
The panel focused on self-confidence and empowerment. Azziad touched the crowd as she drew
on her own experiences touching on challenges and opportunities she found through
cyberbullying. The panel saw the attendance of thousands of students, project partners, and media
representatives.
Commenting on the continued success of the campaign, BIC East Africa Marketing Manager,
Salome Ngugi, said: “BIC is committed to continuing to bring the self-confidence and
empowerment conversation to Kenya’s youth. Wembesha Na BIC, now it its second year has
opened the door to thousands of Kenyan students who are benefiting from the behavioural change
triggers that we are instilling in tomorrow’s generation. We are proud of this accomplishment,
and of our partnership with influential figure, Azziad Nasenya, who is helping us bring our purpose
to life.”
Inspired by the panel conversation, BIC Miss Soleil Brand Ambassador, Azziad Nasenya, said:

story and inspire others to believe in themselves.”
Wembesha Na BIC was incepted in Kenya in 2022 and is in its second edition. BIC has also
launched the ‘I Choose Smooth, I Choose Miss Soleil’ campaign in 2021 which aims to empower,
motivate, and inspire young females to embrace their confidence and be the best version of
themselves. Azziad Nasenya has been BIC Miss Soleil’s partner since 2021 and brand ambassador
since 2022.
